I grew up with a very horrible overbite and once my adult teeth started growing, I had horrible “bunny” teeth and just horrible teeth in general. I used to get bullied badly because of it and when i was around 11 or 12 i referred to Invisalign (invisible aligners) and i was put onto a 55 week treatment plan to fix my overbite and teeth by my orthodontist. It has now been a couple of years since i have finished my treatment and i have to wear aligners every night as i sleep. The aligners have badly recessed my maxilla and my mandible aswell.
Has invisalign permanently stopped me from achieving forward growth and facial bone development then or is it still completely achievable and i am blaming my fuckass genetics and recessed face on invisalign?
What would happen if i just stopped wearing those aligners? Would all that progress go to nothing and would just make me have a severe overbite and fucked up teeth again or would my teeth and bones simply find a natural position without any aligners getting in the way?
(My plan is over so there is no way to ask my orthodontist to alter the plan so my mandible and maxilla would not get recessed)
