It doesn't. It promotes shitty technique and you risk fcking up ur rotator cuffs.maybe speed in theory but if it did boxers would already be doing this
Do you mean actually hitting the bag with it or just shadowboxingIt doesn't. It promotes shitty technique and you risk fcking up ur rotator cuffs.
Even shadow boxing.Do you mean actually hitting the bag with it or just shadowboxing
High iq makes sense thank you.Even shadow boxing.
Promotes shitty biomechanics. It's cos body compensates and adjusts when using weighted punches (especially when you get tired). Speed of the punch comes from snapping motion. Snapping motion is generated from arms in a relaxed state not tense. The power is generated from kinetic chain starting from the rotation of hips (which facilitates the foot pivots), to the scapula and then the arm follows naturally. To promote rhythm and harmony of punches u need perfect biomechanics, which should be done by doing regular shadowboxing.
If you want to rotational power and speed, look at landmine punches and med ball exercises. For raw power that can indirectly translate to punching increase squat and deadlift (strong legs correlates with strong punches) and do a bit of benching.

ill check out the 2 excercises aswell. Already in the gym for the other normal ones
true, it's not like the weight is there during the actual fight, but they used to train underwater for similar benefitIt doesn't. It promotes shitty technique and you risk fcking up ur rotator cuffs.
This. Shadow boxing with dumbbells will just improve shoulder stamina (to keep the hands held up guarding face). And a bit of recoil speed (pulling the bands back to base position from the punch)Even shadow boxing.
