IQ is mostly genetic, with some variations due to nurture. Reading in your younger years can increase IQ, but only slightly. it's a bit hard to explain, but I believe the gaps in IQ are so big that it would take you an entire lifetime to attain the vocabulary or general knowledge of somebody whose IQ is 5-10 points higher than you.

It can expand your vocabulary and stuff along those lines, but it won’t really change your IQ and actual brainpower
