Does reducing melanin in your eyes actually make your eyes lighter?

I have brown eyes and i’m wondering if i can lighten my eye color to hazel or a lighter brown by reducing melanin. I’m also wondering if doing shit like sun gazing and eyedrops can reduce melanin or that’s just cope
