Does scratching your head cause hair loss?

not trichotillomania but constant scratching for years. the reason I ask is because hair falling out doesn't seem miniaturized. I've had an itchy scalp for a while now and I scratch. no treatments have fully worked. I guess combing, scalp massage and vinegar after washing help a bit. don't wanna try nizoral coz I've heard it only dries your scalp out hard and has diethanolamine. also I scratch with my right hand and my right side is thinner than my left tbh

u can use nizoral and then use a conditioner after. If u want a less harsh ketoconazole shampoo, use regenepure but it's more expensive.

Also take some anti-inflammatory supplements. A lot of people report their itchiness/ inflammation stopped when taking these supplements. Things like -

Curcumin
Green Tea Extract
Cod Liver Oil
Perilla

Don't have to take all of em

around twice or maybe three times a week. tried a bunch of shampoos with careful ingredient selection but it doesn't seem to make a difference. no moisturization but hair is slightly greasy naturally. after a wash it's better for a day or so, maybe less

I think so too. Sometimes I'm just bored and I like scratching my head/massage it and I get shit tons of hair out. Unnaturally so. It's quite obvious, but maybe I'm balding. Nah... Just think you can legit damage roots or something and they fall out, which makes sense.

that's also worked somewhat. I usually put it on for a few hours before washing. problem is I can't have it on 24/7 as it's greasy as fuck
