Does skin dry out as you age?

In my mid 20s, I remember the skin on my forehead and around my mouth became prone to a dryness they were never prone to before.

I'm currently 33. It's reached the point where my entire facial area is becoming prone to dryness.

Is this typical?

I use moisturizer.

That being said, 24 hours after my last moisturizing, it looks like I haven't moisturized in 24 days.

I find it alarming (as my skin didn't dry out this quickly in the past)

Maybe switch to another moisturized. But more importantly maybe; eat an optimal diet.
