Does sun glazing actually work?

Sorry in advance for the poor grammer or if I invent new words.

I want to know if sun glazing actually work, like does it turn your iris lighter, making you blind/destroys your vision or makes your iris darker? I got a weird mix of colors in my iris(dominantly dark green) and I would want to change that to make it lighter. My mom has normal to dark blue eyes and my father got light brown eyes.

I can't get contacts because it would be weird suddently after one weekend to have dark blue eyes. Also, thank you for correcting me
