When you're young the lower teeth grow to align with upper teeth so not really

they put braces on kids after giving them a palate expander usually because it just becomes misaligned

Yes ofc. You're not going to get significant change with thumb pulling

Whose nobody? It has worked for many people wdym?

For most people who dont see results, it's because they aren't doing it correctly. At least 15 minutes should be done a day, and an hour or more would be ideal to see significant changes over the course of months. literally the same how a palate expander works, through constant pressure on the palate, which triggers and stimualtes growth/bone remodeling over time. Keep in mind it should be done for at least 6 months consistently or possible relapse can happen (which occured with a MARPE too in a study)
