Does wearing your retainers halt forward growth?

I’ve had to wear retainers since the age of 14. I’m starting to worry on whether it would stop me from ascending. Lmk what you think

i got my braces off a few months before i joined this forum and upon learning about mewing and palatal expansion i immediately stopped wearing my retainer and i have a slight gap now in my front teeth but my palate genuinely expanded, my face got way wider, gonial angle improved, and forward growth improved


so tbh dont wear it lol
