Option 1: ROTC scholarship. I could probably get one of these as I’m a decent student
Pros: You serve as an officer for 4 years after graduation which is kind of prestigious and depending on the job I pick it can translate well into future career
Cons: I have to stay on lock throughout college, can’t do drugs or steroids. There’s also a time commitment within college itself as theres rotc classes and trainings.
Option 2: 3 years army before college
Pros: This is the minimum active duty service for getting the post 9/11 GI bill which fully pays for your public university after your service. Also I will be done with military stuff when college starts so I can enjoy the experience a bit more
Cons: I will have to enter college 3 years later so I’ll be a bit older than my classmates
