Whether or not you explicitly pledged a vow or there was an unspoken yet understood commitment.

Whatever the promise or expectation is/was.

Be the person who does not need to risk trying it to learn the lesson.

It does not matter how many people you help after, or how many accolades you possess.

As long as you have a conscience written on your heart, you will know how dirty you are, how unclean your soul is.

You may even believe in a moral lawgiver.

You might be convinced that you'll have to account for every action you took, regardless of whether that higher being would choose to forgive you.

On this Earth, I promise you, it is no one's obligation to forgive you, assuming you can even forgive yourself.

You cannot undo the destruction you've already caused.

I'm not telling you to be weak.

This is no caution against being cunning.

Where you have enemies, be ruthless with them.
