You'll have to buy electrical machines at some point in your life. A lot of options will entice you with cheap prices. But electrical machines also have operating costs, determined by its power consumption, more efficient the less its operating cost over its lifespan. A complex machine will have installation cost. Another important thing is lifespan. All of that needs to be searched up before you even consider buying it.

Well that was water, except you wont ever consider whether you actually need something or not. Take for example a fridge. If you are a single guy, a normal or even a mini fridge is fine. But you go for the biggest most energy efficient option because it was on a massive discount. Congrats you just played yourself, you arent going to fill the fridge completely. So thats excess power wasted. Also, a mini fridge is less efficient than the big one, but its overall consumes much less power. You also arent going to require people to help you shift and place a mini fridge inside your house.

This is just one example, I am sure you can fit this thinking with others too.

If you get your hands on older Japanese rice cooker or electric kettle, a huge portion of your cooking just got solved for 10 years. Thats good despite not saving as much energy, especially if it consumes much less power in the first place
