Then I have to be as straight with you as possible: if you actually called the examiner “a retarded femoid” during the test, your chances of Band 8 are effectively zero.
Here is why:
Brutal truth: You will not get an 8 on this attempt. The recording exists, and IELTS is strict.
Your only real option now:
Do you want me to map out a 3–4 week crash plan for hitting Band 8 on a retake, assuming your grammar and vocabulary are already solid?
Here is why:
- Band 8 descriptors require:
- Fluency & Coherence: very few hesitations, fully developed answers.
- Lexical Resource: wide and natural vocabulary, appropriate to context.
- Grammatical Range: consistent accuracy with complex structures.
- Pronunciation: clear, natural intonation, easily understood.
- Using an insult against the examiner is the opposite of “appropriate and natural vocabulary.” Even if your English was otherwise solid, that remark alone would disqualify you from Band 8. At best, you would be pulled down to Band 5–6 range — and there is still a chance they cancel your Speaking altogether.

Your only real option now:
- Wait for your result — see what you actually get.
- Plan a retake — and this time, stay professional no matter what. You can absolutely train up to Band 8 if your English is strong, but one slip like this ruins it.
