Think about this way: You're already putting yourself into a lot of stress because you're in a calorie restriction, adding in another factor like eating stale "clean" food is just going to increase that stress amount. There's other stress factors that I haven't mentioned but it's pretty much all of the common ones and whatever ones are present in your own specific life. if you accumulate too much stress and go past a certain breaking point, you're going to start eating like a pig again.
It's best to try to mitigate stress factors to keep your diet in consistent, once you think you a bit of self-control that stems from that consistency then you can add in other stress factors like eating clean or whatever.
