If you go into the consultation with too strict of an idea of what you want, you run the risk that the surgeon will agree with everything you want to hook you in, but then quickly start to change the plan along the line bit by bit to make their lives easier and you might conseed these changes because you think they're not such a big deal but eventually they add up until you're left with a completely different surgery to what you planned
Going into consults with an open mind that the surgeon may have a better plan is good, but also dont accept blatant bs like the surgeon wanting to give u just a chin implant when you clearly need bimax

If the surgeon is changing the plan or forgetting parts of the plan each time you speak to them, change surgeon because they are the kind of cowboys who will draw up a plan with you months in advance then tell you they want to change something literal days before the surgery, you don't need that amount of stress going into a surgery

Also don't be too caught up in getting surgery first before orthodontics, some surgeons will tell you that you can get surgery first with them and they agree with everything you want and tell you they can find you a slot in the next 6 weeks. Then they say: "actually after looking at your scans you need orthdontics first, please agree to work with my orthodontist" This is so they hook you in so you don't go to another surgeon, then they THINK they can change your surgery plan however they want once you're hooked in

The guy who got scammed by Sunil Richardson said that he wanted very specific movements which other surgeons considered as too drastic, but Sunil just agreed he could do everything the guy asked and ended up not even advancing his jaws

The guy said that Sunil added an extra cost to do the full plan before he flew over, saying it would be another couple of thousand and the guy was so excited by the plan that he agreed, then it ended up costing like another 10k once he got there because there wasn't a hard agreement

If your surgeon is vague about pricing you should run. It is just an excuse for them to hook you in then when they think you are committed to the surgery and can't back out they will charge as much as they think they can possibly get out of you

Keep a record of everything your surgeon says to you to see if they lie
I had a surgeon tell me that a proposed surgery would take 5 hours and gave me the cost of the hospital & assistant bills according to 5 hours
Months later the surgeon wanted to add an additional procedure to charge me a hefty additional fee and they said that the original procedure would be 3 hours but adding the additional procedure would make it 5 hours so I'd need to also pay cost of extra hospital & assistant fees

So the first price I received was based on a lie about the duration of the surgery which was completely unnecessary
It turns out that any mention of surgery duration was just a tactic to make me think I had to pay more

Another thing to watch out for: Don't accept surgeons who's mood changes day to day. Eg. a surgeon may be super enthusiastic in your first consult and you think they have your best interest at heart, then you consult them again and suddenly they're acting moody and you want to ask questions about something but you feel reluctant to do it or feel you have to ask gently. Then because they are moody they might give you a sharp "no" to something you suggest, or if you suggest something they may reluctantly agree to it, which at the time you feel a sense of relief that they reluctantly agreed to it, BUT THIS IS FUCKING MANIPULATION ON THEIR PART, just like an abusive partner, they want you to feel thankful when they treat you like you are not just a retarded peasant that's beneath them.
If you are talking to a surgeon who acts like you are inferior to him and acts like how you behave should be dependent on his mood, tell him to go fuck himself
