if by ranking you are referring to school ranking, in germany we dont really have a ranking. the only thing that counts is your barexam score
in germany you also have to pass 2 bars, the first after 5 years of school and the second after 2 years of "work-internship

In The Firm(1993), Tom Cruise was a brilliant law student and already getting offers from law firms to work for them, the companies were trying to get him, not the other way around. From working as a part-time waiter to support himself, he immediately becomes an attorney, receives a good salary, free house, free car, etc..
