So I tried doing this, even though the acid was only 10%. But my skin can’t handle that kind of stress even with moisturizing.
Nothing serious, just dry and somewhere a little red.
But this is only azelaic acid, that's not that bad in terms of dryness,so be careful.
I think that unless you’re on isotretinoin, it’s better to put off any creams that can somehow dry out your skin. Just use moisturizer and SPF

I see the azelaic acid + tretinoin thing going around on tiktok, people don't understand that your skin has to be well adjusted to strong retinoic acids like isotretinoin or tretinoin before using other actives at the same time. Which takes weeks for some and even years for others. Remember that fucking up your skin barrier is very easy to do and takes months to recover. Always do your research

I did mate. I agree. I am using isotret for around 3 months now. I just tried it a few times. I decided to do this, because azelaic acid it's more softer than another of this creams. But after maybe 3 days I saw result

I've been on iso last 6 or so months and used AA 15% the whole time, I was on 80mg/day for a few months but now on 10 as I'm getting to end of course. I used hyaluronic acid before and then put the AA on after the thick moisturise and SPF I was fine. Did take getting used to tho and it helped me get rid of PIE created during the course.

True, using it after moisturizer and SPF can help. I think that after finishing isotretinoin, I’ll use it anyway

Maybe it's just my skin more sensitive for this. But I don't want to make some kind of experiments anymore
I have problems with PIE too, i read that aa will be maybe the best solution

Shit meant to say before. But approach cautiously cuz u never know with iso what is gonna set the skin off. Definitely use after course especially if u have PIE also, hope it goes well mate.

You mean AA and then moisturizer+spf?

Thanks bhai
Yh put the toner first and while it's still a bit damp rub the AA in and it won't sting and will also absorb better. Also since u said u had PIE, Im super white and mine was really red, what worked the best was reaching the dose down and then hydrating skin loads. Thick toner at night with super thick moisturiser and lighter toner morning with AA and pretty thick moisturiser and the spf with centella. been about 2 months and PIE nearly completely gone got a stubborn bit left on forehead which im experimenting with ivermectin to get rid of.

Mirin the result. What toner are you using? I just have la roche moisturiser. Using it at evening and sometimes at the morning

I assume ur using cicaplast that's a really good one been wanting to try it. I use the haruharu wonder in the morning and then QV moderate after and evening the anua 70+ and the same QV one but I changed it recently to the maximum hydrating QV which is kind of like a more viscous vaseline texture. Ive done so much research on PIE cuz my acne was very moderate and the PIE was absolutely ruining my face and the main thing is supporting the skin barrier with hydration and anti inflammatories (AA etc) and then sun protection. But what's gonna make the biggest difference is lowering your dose.

I’ve been using 10 percent azelaic on 10mg accutane. Dose is always the poison and it’s going great so far

Honestly, this response is truth. I'm taking 32mg , so I don't want to take anything else right now. But you can try with good hydration

I've used 16 mg before. But since I have a lot of problems with skin not only on my face, I have to up my dose

i have only this and spf50
But I think I will do something more with PIE later, because lowering my dose will lead to longer treatment. Face is getting better, but back neck and chest are still bad
