It's known that diets usually don't work because most people who hop on the latest fad diet end up either giving up or regaining all their lost weight after they stop dieting.

I think the “dopamine detox" suffers from the same problem. What's the point of stripping yourself from any source of fun for any period of time, if when the detox is done you're gonna indulge in all your dopamine-inducing pleasures again?

I think the dopamine detox is a flawed response to a real problem.

you must be in dopamine detox for at least one month to it works.

So one entire month without your phone, internet, or any source of fun? That's ridiculous.

Like I said, it's like diets. People go months on diets but they gain back all the lost weight when they're done. The only way to really lose weight for good is to change your eating habits permanently.

If you cut back on all dopamine sources for an ENTIRE month you're bound to go on a huge dopamine binge, just like people who are on diets end up binging on food. So naturally, the binge itself will be enjoyable, but your dopamine receptors will eventually get fried again

the real problem is that we live in a society and it cant be fixed

You are right. Basically you should change your habits for life. But its not that bad, after the detox you should limit your time in the phone and eventually you will like to do more natural activities

I think the long term goal should be to remove the worse sources of dopamine like porn from your life, which should make you enjoy other stuff more.
