Double jaw surgery or just Lefort 1 if you have an "underbite"?

I've heard Mike Mew talk about the importance of not pushing the tounge back. The reality is that I have a pretty good chin, actually, just a couple of slightly crowded teeth at the bottom. Once those are fixed my doc wants to do LeFort 1 + double jaw surgery, i.e. to also cut my lower jaw back. I personally think I should just do LeFort 1 and leave the rest as is

saying "lefort 1 and double jaw surgery" does not make sense. You mean he wants to do double jaw surgery.

It all depends on how forward your mandible is. In a lot of cases, surgeons do make the mistake of moving the mandible back. But in some cases, the mandible looks ridiculous with how forward it is.

It's literally impossible to say based upon this post.

Majority of males should never have their mandible moved backwards. Unless your mandible is severely overgrown and over projected, which it probably isn’t, as most modern humans are recessed

I have the same problem at the moment, I wouldn't like to retract my mandible too much. Possibly rotation to reduce the gonial angle and maybe a maximum of 3mm to the phase.
I have the impression that it would take away the masculinity of the face
