downgrown face but compact midface

how does this happen my jaw is downgrown (high gonial angle) but my midface and philtrum aren’t long

I don't consider your face compact. Your whole maxilla + mandible are slighly downward grown. It's not bad though.

Interesting. I consider the midface as essentially the maxilla - from the middle of the eye sockets all the way down to the upper jaw.
Kurt Russell, the actor, has a compact midface for reference imo.

Either way you seem fine. I don't think there's a surgery that's going to give you anything more than a marginal return.
