when youre drunk or high no matter the external occurrences youre always vibing and detached from the outside world, the emotions we feel when sober are survival instincts to keep us alive and pass on the genes, when you have no money you will find yourself sad and anxious when you get money you find yourself happy and not stressing, you got hurt your brain starts imagining pain to tell you something is wrong "hey you need to rest this area so it heal so you can hunt and provide to your family so they can pass on the genes" , when im drunk I can run with a sprained ankle, life is absurd and like a videogame,

Its incredible how emotions are hardwired into our brain

That’s not true. Drugs trigger the release of hormones you wouldn’t have if you were sober, so you’re not experiencing your true self but rather the reaction of excessive hormone release

Yes, hard drugs like benzos, opioids, amphetamine, and alcohol are powerful but they unfortunately can't change your long-term phenotype dictated by genetics because your body have its pain, anxiety, energy equilibrium point which it will defend by creating tolerance to the drugs and then withdrawal

If you run, you trigger the release of endorphins you wouldn't have if you wouldn't run... So what, it's an arbitrary distinction

What about psychedelics which only reduce brain activity/metabolism, with no increases anywhere? Are those not true emotions, not true self?

Brain damage = emotions apparently :lul:

Each time you take a drug you sacrifice it for something else, every psychotropic (mind altering substance) has a trade-off that is NOT good even coffee blocks adenosine which is a required chemical in the brain. Nothing is free, with drugs you always pay a price. Even Adderall is harmful, all psychotropics are to differentiating degree with the antipsychotics being the MOST harmful next to antidepressants.

Antipsychotics are basically chemical lobotomies, and your post is bs.

I drink way too much. Looking for an alternative rn. I'm open to suggestions
