You’re talking about developing girls, girls at the start of puberty. I get attraction to girls at the later-end stage (15-17). I’m 16, and a lot closer to the aforementioned age than you. This is entirely subjective so you can take this argument how you want, but I, as a younger man do can’t grasp this attraction.

It is an extreme example, but picture the hypothetical where this naïve girl, is pushed into a sexual relationship with, in your case, a much older man. What would she know planning dates, romantic walks on the beach, etc. You would ask for sex, and she would most likely oblige, as she cannot think of other ways to strengthen the relationship.

Again, this isn’t backed by science (that I have been aware of, maybe Freud), but I couldn’t see how a 12 year old girl wouldn’t see her 30 year old romantic partner as a father figure. That would be a breeding ground for mental illnesses.

I told you why. She has more life experience and will be better at judging her romantic options/ventures. People could nitpick and say that 18 would be better, but I think that 16 is a good middle ground.

I don't understand, as I'm closer to the discussed age, how my attraction is less than yours. I find girls my own age attractive, and of course older girls. I can't look at a 12 year old and have some sort of sexual attraction towards her. If it's this hard at my age, I find that it would be even harder at your age.

I had said that she has no knowledge of planning dates, walks on the beach, etc. She's too young to have substantial experience in these activities, and likely the older man will be deciding for her. I don't have an anecdotal experience for this, nor do you, besides the postulation that our ancestors did it so that means we should.

I see, from my view and conversations with preteens, that they are very naïve and susceptible to just go ahead with the man's orders. I cannot see any potential for such a relationship, it just appears to be pedophilia.

Looking up to a man because he's admirable and looking up to a man because you see your father in him is very different. The only girls who will attempt for a relationship with such an older man is more than likely doing it due to some past trauma involving her father. Of course I don't have a study for this, there is such a minute number of girls seeking a relationship with a much older man. That's our current reality.

You ever heard of teenage love? That's the natural step towards full-fledged relationships. If a girl was to immaturely jump into such an adult situation, she would be far too ill-prepared. But yes, I actually do agree with you under one certain point. It would be better for a 16 year old girl to have a child with a 30 year old man rather than a 16 year old boy if their original intentions were procreation. But every 16 year old girl that I know does not want to be pregnant yet, so I already have more backing than you on this subject.

I'm with you on this. Freedom of speech is very necessary, especially online. I never treat these things as an argument, but rather as a debate. It's always nice to learn new perspectives, new counters to arguments, etc.
