Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised to read this. Apparently, there is only room for 440 freshmen each year but there's 4000 applicants every year. They wanted to change the ratio of 1:5 to roughly 1:3. The board said it understood the need for more females majoring in tech but that the law currently doesn't allow the prioritization on basis of gender.

Ever heard of NASA? I just translated the Dutch name for the major directly into English, but I think the proper term would be Aerospace Engineering. It's STEM, so it will pay off if you major in it.

The university I mentioned is in the top 50 of universities worldwide, it also has a nuclear plant that the government has allowed them to have. You won't get into the university if you're not capable.

Problem is that the leadership at that university has already stated they will look for other, 'legal' ways to discriminate against men and get more women into the university.

Men won this small battle, but the war against men will continue.
