Black usually means jet black in terms of dye. Jet black would look ridiculous. He should dye them the darkest brown he can find.

I assume so. I'm going to be doing it once school's over so if it goes wrong I can wait until the dye is gone.

Darker makes them look denser which makes them more masculine
(So yes it's legit)

100%, I bought medium brown and they are VERY brown.
PS - Just as much of a looksmax as MT2 in my experience.
