I used to little trick before otoplasty. Its simple and u can choose about how much u want the ears to be pinned back. This is way better then otostick which only works for girls or if u have long hair. Its completly hidden and if ur ear would bend it would not hurt like super glue
Tdlr: Use adhesives to pin your ears back by hold a fold
Why Use Adhesives?Professional adhesives like Pros-Aide and other strong skin-safe glues can be used for various purposes, from attaching prosthetics to achieving subtle cosmetic adjustments like pinning back your ears. Whether it's for a photoshoot, an event, or simply to elevate your everyday look, this trick is easy to implement and leaves a lasting impression.
Choosing the Right Glue
While Pros-Aide is a popular choice for skin-safe, durable adhesion, there are other stronger alternatives you might consider for extra hold, especially if you're planning to wear the adhesive for an extended period. Some of the top adhesives include:
- Telesis 5 Silicone Adhesive – Excellent for skin and offers a strong, flexible hold, making it ideal for all-day wear.
- Mastix Medical Adhesive – A firm and reliable adhesive, often used in theatre for secure, long-lasting effects.
- Beta Bond Plus – Another medical-grade adhesive known for its strength and comfort.
- Skin Tite Silicone Adhesive – Perfect for long-term, sweat-resistant adhesion.
- Dermatex Adhesive – Often used for wigs, but equally good for special effects makeup, this one offers great durability.
Where to Place the Adhesive: The Ear Pin-Back
This trick involves applying a small amount of adhesive behind the ear to pull the ear back just slightly, around 2-5mm, for a more refined look. To help guide you, here’s a simple step-by-step process:
- Clean the Area: Clean the skin behind your ear with an alcohol pad or gentle cleanser to remove oils or dirt, which can affect adhesion.
- Apply the Adhesive: Dab a small amount of your chosen adhesive behind your ear, on the area closest to your scalp. Let the glue get tacky for a few seconds.Like the earfold where i got the idea from.
- Press and Hold: Fold your ear back gently to achieve the desired position. Hold it in place for 30 seconds to 1 minute, ensuring the glue sets.
Removing the Adhesive
When it's time to remove the adhesive, always use a remover specifically designed for your product. For Pros-Aide and similar adhesives, Pros-Aide Remover or an isopropyl myristate solution will help dissolve the adhesive without irritating the skin.
