I see SM and youtube addiction as being a problem in society. certainly i've experienced and suffered chronically from it myself.
if this isn't you then great, call me a beta pussy if you will for being addicted to it, but i did indeed manage to solve it and i think this may greatly benefit a lotta guys out there, hence why i'm writing this down.
Don't click away just yet. Just hear me out. its a 2-paragraph read anyways.

why is rotting (scrolling on yt, sm, looksmax.org etc...) undesirable?
- it fries your dope receptors> worse mentality and discipline and general drive to work& be disciplined.
- it literally cucks your lucidity and ability to think freely, as well as hosing your energy and creativity
- bad posture and eyes
- permanently wasted time

and on top of that it has little-no actual benefits.

So, to fix?
after extensive testing and failure, I propose a simple yet quite effective solution which worked for me -

It's a chrome extension that allows you to make youtube so bland that you don't even want to watch it anymore. ie, it makes it an unstimulating and hard habit. this, in combination with the quality of it being undesirable (read dot points above) should quite easily eliminate the leech from your life.
just for reference, the settings i used include turning videos grayscale, turning off most distracting buttons and comments, turning off the recommendations sidebar, and making the homepage have only 2 rows with 4 columns, so i only have some 6 videos to pick from every time i open it. this also means that when you actually need youtube for something productive, you can still use it quite adequately.

IDK how well this works for others but it certainly solved the issue for me. pick out what you will. Hope this helps. ;)👍
