In the soy modern world you see this trope a lot. People, women in particular, act like their bad experiences in the past have given them trauma that hurts them at every stage of life, but this is just for attention, and to make themselves feel special and have special treatment by people.
In the pre-industeial world, which our species as it is now (not counting millions of years before when we humans of a different type yet basically the same) spent around a million years in, people watched their parents die all the time, and men and women were raped very frequently.
Humans during this era didn't just mope around depressed and go to therapy lmao. And keep in mind this the NATURAL environment that humans evolved to live in. People lived with that shit and not because they were tough, but because this "emotional trauma" that we'd hear about today doesn't mean Jack shit.
The only true emotional trauma imo would be hardships humans didn't evolve to have. These things would include inceldom and depression from sedentary lifestyles.
I'm sure having a parent die or getting sucks, but so does breaking your leg. Its supposed to heal and it does heal, yet modern humans milk their "trauma" for all its worth. People have become soy
