There is literally no actual benefit or advantage in having emotions , coldness is far superior , overly-emotional people make me anxious and tired

How ? I don't get it but I want to
Cage at people thinking human feelings are anything more than random mutations developed over the course of millions of years to improve the species chance of survival and propagation.

that's why random ass plants and chemicals can make you feel better than any sober lived experience could - it's just random shit that happens to nicely slot into your bodies biopsychological composition

try looking at it from an outside perspective: adult salmon swim thousands of miles upstream to the exact location of their own birth in order to lay eggs. They have to swim up fucking waterfalls, are hunted by bears and eagles and the fresh water slowly kills them over time and causes their body to deteriorate. Almost all salmon die in this migration. It's extremely retarded. But they do it anyway because it's their biological programming and I'm sure it makes them feel better than anything else in this world.

Now zoom out, what makes us any different from the salmon? People have a hard time removing the bias from their own goals and desires. Feelings are just ephemeral messages to the brain, mediating the relationship between your conscious existence and the arbitrary hard coded desire of life to persist into the future. Emotions are about sending signals to maximise the likelihood of you behaving in a way that is consistent with preserving the cycles of life. Survival reproduce. Survival reproduce. Survival reproduce. Half the time they malfunction, in many people they don't work at all. But as long as more often that not it pushes people into the right direction it does it's job.

Emotions are beautiful. But they are also a myth. And that's why I choose to chill 24/7 and have fun and stuff

What diseases are u afraid from to the point it ruins your life
Not disease but other stuff related to surgeries that I had when I was a Kid

An accident that would completely deform my face or my ability to walk. I'd rope no question if that happened

I read what you say but I dont have the feeling I got an explanation as to why "feelings are a myth". Sounds like an edgy statement lol.

How much do you think about it? it's pretty water
Everyday but I can hide it well. It's not like I'm an emotional bitch 24/7 scared for my life, just an ocd thing

hide it? so you think about it literally all day?
Yeah nowadays I just rot alone in my apartment 24/7. You can only think about so many things until the nature of death and disease kicks in again

So all day you just imagine over and over what will happen if you get into a terrible accident? like a horror movie that doesn't end?

I have that thing aswell though to a lesser extent nowadays , it's a mixture of Paranoia and OCD

Overthinking is the real culprit of suffering. Emotions are merely a trigger. Thinking requires huge amounts of energy and too much of it can result in neuronal excitotoxicity and cell death. Stress levels and thinking are closely linked. And by 'stress' I mean both positive (eu-) and negative (distress), which depends on the kind of thoughts you have

Like I said it's an ocd thing, thoughts come and go, take it as you will

Elab, what's the point of picturing a horror scenario over and over again? (I'm playing dumb) I just want to hear it from a sufferer. Don't you get tired? how much pain it causes you.

Because it's just your brain tricking you into thinking something

It's complicated to put into words but it feels like a psychological horde of mosquitoes stinging constantly or most times

Emotions are something that i hate experiencing all the time. when i feel sad, mad, or just something negative at all, I feel as if i am wasting my time as im not doing anything to solve the issue on why i am feeling that way, im just treating the symptoms. If someone tells me to kiss, i will feel nothing since idrc but if someone who i cared about a lot talked about me in a bad way, then my emotions would be stronger then if it was just a random person on the internet

In order to not show emotions, you just have to focus on what is causing it and think about it from a third person view. Only then can you see if it is really worth feeling negative emotions for

Doesn't tell me much. We all think about fucked up shit. I wanna know what it does to you
Your brain can't distinguish between thoughts and reality. Negative thoughts of an imagined scenario can trigger the same physical stress response as a real event. Which is exactly what happens with OCD and why it's so agonizing

How do you know if it's real or not? who is to say where's the line?

Most of it is conditioning and life experience. Remember being a child? It's much harder for them to tell real from imaginary because they don't have the life experience, belief systems and brain conditioning of adults yet. Hence their vivid imagination.
That's not answering my question. Tons of life experience is relative, what if you worked at an ER and now you're really afraid of accidents compared to someone who never dealt with that? is the ER guy wrong to worry about it? you said distinguishing between real and imaginary but I doubt @ArcticStorm and @thickdickdaddy27 imagining it, it's most likely based on reality. It's more about the ability to tolerant ambiguity than real or fake

Humans are imperfect beings, just a link towards the superman.
Some say genius are the only real humans and the rest of us just mere learning monkeys.

Emotions are a myth, but you describe what they are and they seem very much real?

I guess you mean a myth in the normie sense right? I agree they're biological programming.

Id say they are a myth, supposedly, as the romantized idea of love being smth red or Pink in your chest and heart.

Biological programming sounds like a very broad statwment. Everything within us is "biological programming". Technically they are brain based. However it remains unclear why you can have gut feelings to know something about a person if its not with invisible feelings and energy in between.

I agree for the most part.

I lack positive emotions but my negative emotions are strong.
