The longer you live, the more unlikelihood starts slipping in.

For you to have lived this song, certain things had to occur in order for this to be possible. More conditions have to be met for you to survive another couple of years. The more you survive, the more things start turning into events that are unlikely to occur, but yet they occur in order to accommodate for the possibility of you existing.

Let's say, we were all supposed to die in 2012, but we did not in our reality, so things have to get more strange/weird/unlikely for you to continue living. There have do exist dozens of this events that we avoid, which causes unlikely events to occur more often, to the point where in the end events that have a 0.00000001% chance of occurring, would occur on a constant basis because otherwise your existence would not be possible.

The longer you will live, the crazier this world will become. Who knows what will happen in the end. Maybe all laws of physics will stop working and we will be absorbed into a different dimension. As long as there is even a 0.00000001% of an event occurring, it could occur.

Anyway, it's all about your personal experience because consciousness is something special and unique for you. Others will die, yet you will live or maybe you are already dead, in this reality, and your body is a husk on auto-pilot mode, which could explain the NPC phenomenon.
