why do people always bring up the past of a country like it means something now. who cares if a country won wars or had an empire. that doesn’t mean shit if they mess up now. take britain. they invaded half the world, won wars, had money, power, all of that. they were basically sitting on trillions. so how the fuck did they end up like this.

they lost the empire, lost control, started falling behind. world wars drained them, other countries started rising, they didn’t keep up. they let go of real industry and started relying too much on finance and london. then they went and did brexit which just made everything worse. less trade, less investment, economy slowed down. no real plan, just bad decisions over and over.

Most of England is named after the Anglo Saxons. Yes, they are Germanic. Why wouldn't they be? Essentially they're the most intelligent of the Germanic sub groups - they left the continent during the Hun invasions.
