For EVERYTHING. Your childhood environment determines your craniofacial development, heavily influences your IQ as an adult and your brain development, determines whether you grow up psychologically healthy or disordered etc.

And even once you’ve grown up your present environment is still immensely important. The right environment- people, places, culture, reward systems and influences- can entirely decide whether you flourish or flounder. Being around the right people and living somewhere good in a place you feel safe and comfortable is paramount to your mental health and productivity in all things, so prioritise it

Environment is also out of your control
Partially (moreso the younger you are)
You can’t control many variables but you can move out of a bad place, a bad situation, cut off bad influences and toxic people

Oh yeah for sure, you don’t really have any control on your early life environment (but you do for that of your kids if you chose to have them so raise them right)

nah, a bad environment can fuck up your ‘genetic potential’

especially if your “natural testosterone production” never did its job during puberty. puberty is the window where your nervous system, voice, confidence baseline, stress tolerance, bone structure, and overall masculine signaling are supposed to lock in. if that window gets fucked, you don’t magically “catch up” later just by entering adulthood

you’re not supposed to enter adulthood constantly anxious, shaky, a shit soy voice.

that’s from stress conditioned endocrine system.

bad environment ——->chronic stress ———>elevated cortisol ———-> suppression of testosterone when it matters most. once high cortisol dominates during puberty, testosterone never gets to fully express itself in the brain or body. environment is so important in shaping your hormones. constant social pressure, poverty, instability, fear, never feeling safe, all of that wires your body to prioritize survival over development. testosterone is not a “survival hormone,” it’s a thriving hormone. if your body thinks you’re constantly under threat, it downregulates.

this is why you see these weird mismatches everywhere. twink suburban white boy ends up with a deep resonant voice because his nervous system was never under attack. meanwhile you’ll see masculine bearded ethnic men who grew up under nonstop pressure, yet they speak with a tight, strained, soy voice, almost as if they’re nervous constantly. because their system was never allowed to relax long enough for testosterone to thicken their vocal cords.

not everything is genetics, biology responds to environment first. if your environment failed you during puberty, pretending your endocrine system will magically self correct later hahahaha nah
