epiduo ruining my skin

got prescribed this by my GP and when i used it, i experienced INSANE skin burning and my entire face was red. i noticed i started getting acne in more places and my existing acne got worse. i want to change to maybe adapalene but that means all my progress is gone. is this normal?

i’ve been on epiduo for a couple of years now, and it has always worked wonders for me. it never fully eliminated my acne so this winter i’m switching to accutane. anyways, my brother was also prescribed epiduo and experienced the exact same thing you are right now. he went back to the dermatologist and was prescribed something else that was more suitable for his skin. so yes progress might be lost.

im gonna say like 90% now its mostly on my chin and across my jawline (when broken out)

i started on march 12, 2024. now it's may 14, 2026, but looking back, my skin was basically fully clear after around 44 weeks. (i’m unsure when it fully cleared up because I forgot to take pictures between week 23 and 44.)
