There are a lot of people talking about erdafitinib on tiktok and how good it is for longitudinal growth and how it will also widen the growth plates therefore give you a longer growth window. Tho the question should be, is it worth it? Erdafitinib inhibits fgfr1, 2,3 and 4, It would be almost all good if it only inhibited fgfr 3 but it also inhibits fgfr 1 and 2 which sucks a lot. First problem is the eye surface dryness which i guess you could Avoid by applying eye drops every 2 hours (since fgfr 2 is essential for the homeostasis of the meibomian glands/the 1s that secrete tears) , but the real problem is the fluid build up in the retina which you cant control, you would have to stop taking erda and pray the body reabsorbs the fluid (or u could lower the dose and gamble going blind). Inhibiting fgfr 3 also sucks because yeah it cause rapid scheletal growth but at the same time this can lead to scoliosis becauase the bones grow fast and the muscles, ligaments cant keep up, pulling the spine downwards in a curve. So yeah idk if it s worth it, I wonder if anyone actually tried it. Tyra 300 would work much better with way less risks bc it only inhibits fgfr leaving you with only a scoliosis risk🥹🫰 but that s expensive asf and very hard to source.
