Anyone been on estriol or estradiol cream for a decent amount of time and seen worthwhile results? Been thinking about starting it (heard u apply it every day) but I’m lost on whether it’s cope or not

Seems most of the literature is from post-menopause women and there’s barely any anecdotes on this site or guides

Topical won’t do shit realistically

Edit: fuck forgot to add cream in the post lol
Topical estriol is a low-dose, local hormone replacement therapy (HRT) used to treat menopause-related vaginal symptoms like dryness, itching, and pain. It is applied directly inside the vagina—commonly as creams (e.g., Blissel, Ovestin) or pessaries—to restore tissue thickness and moisture without significant systemic absorption. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Key Uses and Benefits
  • Treats Vaginal Atrophy: Addresses vaginal dryness, soreness, itching, and painful intercourse (dyspareunia).
    • Urinary Health: Helps reduce urinary frequency, urgency, and recurrent UTIs.
    • Pre/Post-Surgery: Used before or after vaginal surgery to aid in tissue healing.
    • Low Risk: Because it works locally, it has a lower risk of side effects compared to systemic HRT. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Dosage and Application
  • Initial Phase: Typically one application daily for 2–3 weeks.
  • Maintenance Phase: Reduced to a maintenance dose, often one application twice a week.
  • Method: Applied at bedtime using a calibrated plastic applicator to ensure the correct dose. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Safety and Side Effects
  • Side Effects: Potential for mild, temporary local irritation or discharge at the start of treatment.
  • Safety Monitoring: While generally safe, the safety of long-term, continuous use is less certain; treatment is often re-evaluated every 12 weeks.
  • Consultation: It is a prescription medication, and users should report any breakthrough bleeding to a doctor. [1, 2, 3]
