estrogen isnt commonly attributed to sexual motivation, and is mostly involved in reproductive physiology, essentially priming the body for mating. (cervical mucus, endometrial lining etc.)

if you read through some of the citations given in the introduction for the first study you sent, you'd see that there's constant implication for salivary TESTOSTERONE influencing libido DIRECTLY, aswell the belief that women's attraction for high test/masculine facial characteristics peaks in the luteal phase, (atleast i believe) this would not be able to be consistently demonstrated THROUGHOUT the luteal phase as salivary progesterone increases which REDUCES attraction to these traits.

i also have suspicion that some of these studies didn't control for testosterone when measuring estradiol.
