Eugenics - A set of discredited beliefs and practices aiming to improve human genetic quality by promoting higher reproduction for deemed "superior" traits (positive) and inhibiting it for "inferior"one(negative).
By definition it does not sound bad, and it wouldn’t have had its bad reputation if the propagandists & governments would have learned to implement it better.
What gave eugenics a bad reputation?
- valid (things that shouldn’t have been done)
- invalid (things I think could’ve been done differently/better)
Forced Sterilization
In the early 1900s, several countries used eugenics policies to force people they considered “undesirable” to be sterilized so they couldn’t have children.
I think this was wrong, removing the possibility to create life was morally wrong. But I think the pov of the children of disabled parents, if they find out about BP they roping asap.
Racism and Discrimination
Eugenics was frequently based on the belief that some races or groups were biologically superior to others. These ideas were used to justify discrimination and segregation.
I understand why this was done, people didn’t want to be overrun by foreign people (kind of ironic nowadays) but I think if people would’ve just not been racist (impossible at the time tho) and just have the government implement immigration laws/bans/restrictions, this part could have been handled better. JBW people biggest dream xd
Connection to Nazi Policies
The most infamous use of eugenics was by Adolf Hitler and Nazi Party in Germany. Their ideology of “racial purity” helped lead to the The Holocaust, where millions of Jews and other groups were murdered.
This could technically be a
, but the nazis just did this stuff to the extreme, based of that I just can’t respect that attempt at all.
Violations of Human Rights
Many eugenics programs removed people’s freedom to make decisions about their own bodies and families, which is considered a major violation of human rights today.
Violating human rights was just wrong, them putting marriage restrictions on mentally ill people was kinda wrong. And a famous case like Buck v. Bell basically allowed the government to legally sterilize people considered “unfit.” This led to over 60,000 forced sterilizations in the U.S. BP wise like yea you can agree with this but like in practice and society it’s hard to allow such things since they will cause lots of unrest.
Misuse of Science
Modern genetics shows that human traits like intelligence or behavior are very complex and influenced by many genes and environmental factors. Eugenics oversimplified this and treated people’s worth as biological, And conducted cruel experiments on humans.
If this were to happen right now, no. Back then I could understand since research was necessary for development.
How does this translate to immigration in current day western 1st world civilizations?
Well it does not, since minorities are taking over and white politicians and government officials support it. Maybe when the minorities become majorities then maybe eugenics will be used against whites.
14% total immigrants population in all of Europe. And they rule the countries.
USA total immigrants
You Guys can look up New Zealand, Australia, and Canada on your own xd
Race Mixing?
Well Eugenics opposed race mixing. The USA during that time passed Anti-miscegenation laws that banned interracial marriage. Even in places where there were no laws banning interracial marriage, people still discriminated. There was a lot of social stigma and discrimination for the people who came from mixed-race families. I don’t really have an opinion on racial mixing, because it’s hard to separate people in love, but if it becomes major eventually everyone will be mixed which gets rid of cultures and people as a whole.
My point:
I think eugenics could be good, but how it was done was wrong in some ways. Unfortunately whether you want it implemented in a western 1st world country or not, it’s simply going to be impossible with the rise of minorities, which is sad because it just shows furthermore how the native’s of those countries are losing authority. Minorities already run countries while being only 10% of the population, what will happen when they will be 50%+, sharia law?!??!?
