To clarify though, if god doesn’t need a creator to exist why does the universe? You can say that god always existed is more likely than the universe just randomly springing into motion one day but you can’t really effectively say the first is a better argument. As for the last sentence, I agree that there’s a chance but it is also in human nature to think and understand what is around us. It’s also why there’s no “established religion,” because there is no solid evidence or argument that everyone can agree makes sense.
because the universe began to exist. the universe had a beginning, god didnt. God is a divine being, its ok for us humans to not understand his abilities.
? Elaborate pls.

The anthropic principle (often referred to as the anthropic effect in cosmology) is a philosophical and scientific concept stating that the observable universe must be compatible with the conscious life that observes it

we can only observe this universe that is compatible with our existence, so ofcourse it will be special for us, just because something didnt happen because of the chances dosent mean that it was even created or designed. your 1/50 argument could be looked at if the chance is a satisfying explanation for highly constrained conditions

Humans set the standard. We just happened to be wired with the beliefs that some things are good and some things are bad. Don’t forget we evolved to act a certain way because of certain ancient human dynamics which promoted cooperation and mutual benefit, cultural beliefs etc. You will have to prove that humans happening to favor certain moral positions = god exists. Morals just happened to be part of the human design.
this just explains why we believe certain things are moral, but you dont fully explain whether those beliefs are acctually true. if what you said was 100% true then something like cruelty coulvde been looked at as normal because cruelty was needed for survival back then. if our morals are fully depended on evolution then they are not keeping up with the truth, just what is useful for our survival.
What does christianity being the most persecuted religion have to do with anything? If so many religions exist obviously some will excel in popularity. It’s commonly accepted that Jesus existed but his resurrection is less so. People were much more primitive, had a shorter lifespan, and had a smaller knowledge base than we do now, meaning misinformation can spread much faster. Even today most people base their lives around a religion because it’s what their parents, family and/or culture taught them, not because they went through the motions of picking and choosing the most logically sound option, it’s not like people are super logical robots regarding their beliefs.
its the fact that people gave their lives for this, why would they, are they really that dumb or are they dong it for the truth? this is acctually a good point ngl. but the thing is that you are making it seem that the deaths were a couple thousand, im talking about hundreds of millions of people that died for this. how would misinformation spread quickly in the early days of christianity when it was widely known that if you are a christian you will be persecuted, obviously people were dummer but they still wanted to live, so people opted out for the truth and gave their lives for it. people still get misniformed today like its a thing that happens in every era.

Have you ever heard of the placebo effect? Even if there is no god, believing in a loving one that is truly invested in your life can have a huge impact.
i think that this is just atheist stubborness. it can be the placebo effect or it can be God. like why the fact that it genuienly is god you cant accept. something like that, its bigger than just a truth or something to motivate someone, its a way of life for some. and that way of life motivates them. idk this argument is pretty 50/50, you just only look at it from the atheist side and not from both

This is the same logic people used back in 500 BC. “If the smart guy said so, it must be true.” It’s only by questioning what they say rather than taking their word for it that humans can advance knowledge on a topic. Many of the smart people you’re thinking of are known as smart in the history books today because they were contrarians. Many smart people also are atheists, so you can’t just follow one guy blindly in this because he or she seems impressive.
yea ill give you that one, im just saying that these people are genieunly smart and found god so why cant you atleast understand some reasons that he can be real. thats kind of what im trying to do for myslef. i wanna understand all religions and theological beliefs.
Thousands of religions. Billions of potential upbringings, familial and cultural values, life experiences that shape your religion and more importantly your identity as a person. And yet you need to choose the exact right set of beliefs to be rewarded? It’s a lottery, it’s not fair. If god judges based on things like that he is not loving at all.
good point

but im pretty sure for chrisitianity (for example) that if you have never been exposed to it you got like a free pass to heaven or smt like that. christians goals are to spread it so not spreading it to everyone is kind of their fault. but also look at it from the relgious perspective, you try to evangelize to someone and they deny, so technically yk they rejected god so they go to hell

but i low k think hell is too cruel. why is a permanet life determining you eternity?

sorry for late response
