I still don't like that Europe and US are sending money to Ukraine. It's hurting them financially.

Even if Putin took over it won't matter to the west. Everything Putin's hands touch gets destroyed so it's not like he's going to build a dangerous empire.

On average it's 1-2 degrees colder in the houses connected to the national centralized heating system here in Romania. Hot water on tap it's also less warm than in other years.

He probably pissed off the wrong people...There are certain businesses here that belong to powerful, influential and well connected people who are protected by the authorities(they get a share of the profits too). So another guy can't just come here from another country and open a hotel, bar, restaurant, nightclub, etc. if he doesn't any connections here - he represents unwanted competition. The Tate brothers had casinos and webcam studios - businesses associated here with really shady people, they were either warned to leave, take their business elsewhere or refused to pay some unofficial protection tax to the authorities and now they have to support the consequences...
There are also here other webcam studios, strip clubs, brothels disguised as massage parlors, etc. where women very likely get the same treatment, but since their owners are covered and supported by the authorities, nothing will happen to them, the authorities choose selectively when to enforce the laws.

For Tate it's probably too late to buy his way out now, especially since his case is very famous, the media is closely watching and reporting everything that happens, and it will look really suspicious if his case will be dropped - he will be sacrificed to give the impressions that the justice and law is strong in Romania.
