In the ancient and medieval eras, China, Persia, MENA, and India in general or in some ways was more advanced in culture, technology, science, economy, and philosophy compared with Europe.
The Greek alphabet is based off of the ancient Phoenician alphabet.
Alexander the Great expanded his Greek empire Eastwards because there was little value anything West of Greece at the time.
Alexander the Great's Kingdom of Macedon was once occupied by the Persian Empire, even the greatest military accomplishments of the Greeks had to do with the Persians.
The Romans established more sophisticated trade networks with India and Axum than with Scandinavia despite the fact that Italy is geographically closer to Scandinavia than it was to India.
The Huns were defeated by Han dynasty China and thus had to migrate to Europe, but upon migrating the Europe they easily conquered Slavs and Germanics and even led a coalition against the Western Romans and triumphed over them. Steppe Asians who were defeated by the Chinese or by other steppe Asians could still massacre, conqueror, and brutalize Europeans.
China was the leading technological innovator during the medieval world inventing stuff such as compass, gunpowder, seismographs, and kites. The Middle East had to depend on technological transfers brought from China by the Turks and Mongols.
The earliest European colonial empires was Spain and Portugal, but they benefited from technological transfers from MENA and Andalusian leftovers.
The most powerful Slavic Empire was Tsarist Russia, which rose due to the Mongol-Tartar patronage of the Muscovite city and tech transfers from China and MENA, the Slavs in the more western regions such as Belarus and Poland were still being bitched around by Germanics.
France and Britain simply imitated Spanish colonialism and started their colonial empires after the Iberians did.
European accomplishments are based upon cultural and technological transfers from MENAs and Gooks as well as geographic proximity to MENAs and gooks.
