Why would they care, many young people live in the present, they don't give a shit about what happened a long time ago, in college I've met some good, hard-working students who never heard about some historical facts like Attila the Hun, The Inquisition, The Normandy landings, etc.

LOL, actually the people in college who I've found out they didn't know about these things were girls - some of them were ambitious, they studied hard, but besides the stuff thought in the university, they had absolutely no idea about tons of other stuff: one girl never heard about Star Wars, another didn't know what a comet was, etc. Their interest in knowledge was only if it could benefit them in some way.

I'm talking about some girls who lived in a dorm when I was in college(that was in the early 2000s). They had no TV in their room and had no need for it really... Every night they would go in bars, nightclubs, or to party in the boys' rooms. Occasionally they would go see a movie at the cinema or in some guy's room who had a TV or computer, but mostly they lived in the moment, they socialized a lot and simply didn't care too much about movies, tv shows, video games, etc.
