A bit controversial but hear me out.


As long as there were human civilisations, there were wars. If one civilisation wanted something that the other one has, it fought to control what they needed.


For the majority of human history, kings didn't need to justify their wars: tens of thousands would die, but at the end of the day, we had to have that *insert whatever here*.


It seems like the huge technological millitary advancement of certain civilisations, mainly western ones, rose the question of morality of wars, as now they could dominate many technologically inferior civilisations quite easily.
