Yeah I lived comfortably. Fully furnished apartments are around $200 a month and everything else is very cheap. I was teaching English in Wenzhou before the first month was through. The last teaching gig I had there in 2021 I was making 3k a month for 25 hours a week. That's comfort if you ask me. I don't give a damn about Western conveniences though.

A lot of people do that. Not really the jackpot. I got no degree or anything. Just a high school education. Fake paperwork and a bribe to push it through can get you a legit work visa. That's just the way things are done over there. I preferred to just work illegally though on a fake student visa so I was never tied to any one school. Anybody could get a job teaching English for good pay there. I've literally taught drunk and stoned for months straight without getting fired. I'd even be in the corner of the class hitting my weed pen in front of the kids during the 10 minute break.

Shit, I even groped and kissed a married co worker at one of the schools I worked at. Nobody ever even said anything about it to me but they had a meeting about it the next day with all the female staff. The headmaster told all the girls about what I did and just to slap any coworker that tried doing it with them. I know about it because one of the managers who was at that meeting told me about it a couple years later, after I married her that is.
