realized it sounded like this - my point is i'm assuming iois work based on experience. after having it on easy mode in such situations for a couple of times, it's safe to assume those indicators are reliable. that's by no definition shooting in the dark, lmao. would i have the same rate of success from approaching the identical amount of girls who are completely unphased by me (what i'm describing in the op is still pretty uncommon)? absolutely not.
