Stuff like work ethic are more important and constantly explain more of total variance when evaluating parameters like academic success. Additionally your reasoning is very very dangerous. If cognitive abilities determine who is allowed to vote then we as humans won’t be voting at all in a few decades lol. Just consider that AI is catching up to us and will be smarter than we are. The logical consequence given your premise would be that AI should dictate our fate.

Definitely agree. Im sitting at 140 IQ ish which is about top 0.5%. Yet I have adhd and thus could never study at all. My academic performance was extremely mid besides math. Now I take meds and notice how much putting in the hours is worth. IQ amplifies your results but doesn’t create them ex nihilo.

I totally see where he is coming from. If you haven’t looked into the actual research and are a victim of indoctrination IQ seems like the absolute measure that even determines your value as a human. IQ was ominously used by Nazis to discriminate against genetically unfortunate people. No genetic trait should close doors because some correlation on paper suggests that for a specific sample it affected performance negatively.

Most companies, especially for STEM or finance roles have psychometric tests which filter out people. Whilst they aren’t exactly IQ questions, they are pretty similar.

I took that psychometricshub.org one, and scored top 20th percentile. But i honestly dont know if i believe that.
