They immediately perceive the aforementioned interactions as choosing signals.

Yep, true for some. Even women do the same by assuming men they are attracted to, find them attractive back.

There are also traumatised people on the other hand, who wont believe anything is an ioi, and deny that a girl could be attracted to themselves because of low self esteem.
