No matter how good you are, you will never be an astronaut or a billlionare without luck. It's just too improbable. However, becoming something extremely difficult but more statsitsitically probable you can sometimes be brute force your way to success by repeating it over and over and thus increasing the sample size. There are cases where you only get one try like top universities, special roles in the military, etc. yeah then it's over.
