I didn't know you had a gf but i'm glad to hear it Jason and i'm actually happy for you. Even tho I think I will say a few things.
First, I think that love is the only kind of idealism a human being can afford. I believe that someone who loves is worth more than someone who does not love sincerely.

Beyond that, considering the society we live in today, it is not that everything is misery and degeneration, although part of it is, but rather that if someone has standards and values or pillars in life and does not accept everything or give up most of their positions, especially regarding women, then it becomes problematic.


I think that each person should be happy being themselves, however I also believe that if you value yourself enough and do not have mediocre values, not everyone will meet those standards. That is why it is difficult for me to find someone meaningful who is truly worth it instead of just being with someone for the sake of it.

Regarding the story with your girlfriend, I had 5 (kinda even 7 who could reach that point, but they end up much early) experiences similar to yours (where the girl approached me in the sense of giving me an ultimatum to take her as a girlfriend), where I was presented with only 2 options, and each time, if I had chosen the other option, there was a chance that my life, future, and present reality would have looked completely different..

- In the 5th grade, after 4 years of having my dream crush in class just as a friend with whom I had common hobbies, she decided to come directly to me, in front of me, to ask me if I didn't want a girlfriend, and if I didn't want her to be the one for me (she was basically telling me that she would like to experience the love of her youth, the teenage love, to experience the first hand holding, hugs, kisses of her life, etc. with me )

I never wanted a career, I just wanted to finish university, be a hard working guy at a multinational company, work in an office 9-5 in a hybrid / remote system if possible, do my job and go just home peacefully to deal with the rest of the complicated reality outside the workplace (I managed to do this for about 2-3 years, until geopolitical problems / Chinese competition in the industry / artificial intelligence, etc. made this plan fail, unfortunately, even though I personally did nothing wrong)
