It is such a : facepalm: that most people in the news media fail to see that these two statements are not mutually exclusive. In fact they probably both happened. It is likely the Chinese caught some Horseshoe bats from hundreds of miles away from Wuhan, transported the bats to that lab in Wuhan for viral study, then somehow the virus escaped from the lab.
