Expander help

My ortho has got me on a palate expander and he said gaps should start coming in soon but I haven’t seen anything yet.

For context I have a tooth borne expander without a key, obviously I’m expecting tooth movement leading to alveolar remodelling however I’m still hoping for potentially some mid palatal suture splitting.

This is in order to bring my deep bite of 6mm forward after expansion

Expanding 1mm a month to get 6mm expansion. I have the expander in for 12 months. Installed at 15, currently 16.

If he sees no gaps in my next appointment is it safe to assume he might put me on a different type of expander or nah.

Progress so far like 2.5 months in
