how long does it take to see results/to clear my skin for whiteheads/scarring? if i ask my derm will they start me on .025 or is it based on the severity of the skin

Expect skin dryness, gay glow, peeling and itchiness for a few months. If you manage to stay consistent it will slowly improve and hopefully you'll get a very decent skin. You need to approach Tret as a long-term procedure.

If you purge, it should be over with by month 3-4. By months 7-8 your skin should be noticeably more clear. This varies person to person. Just based on my personal experience, whitehead pimples should leave by month 4-5, with closed comedones taking a bit longer to disappear completely. You said you have scarring- make sure you are wearing sunscreen so it doesn't get worse. Your scars might appear more red on tret because it increases vascularity, but this effect diminishes once you reach month 7 territory
